Kyou Kara Maou

. YUURI . Cute 15 year old occasionally confident, occasionally not, male lead of the series. He's your average teenage boy, but beneathe the surface, Yuuri is so much more.

. WOLFRAM . Yuuri's semi rival. He's pissy, stubborn, rude, violent talented fighter who cares a lot about his status and pride. He's also a pretty boy (more so than anyone else anyway)

This pairing seems to have the potential of all rivals turn friends turn lovers type thing.

POINT 1
When Yuuri first sees Wolf, his very first thoughts are. "Whoa... a pretty boy!" Wofram however is completely unaccepting of Yuuri or his new role as king. In episode two, he is horribly rude to Yuuri and even has the gaul to insult Yuuri's mother. Of course this pisses Yuuri off, and he quickly sheds his normal sweet, polite boy persona and slaps Wolf right across his cheek. His left cheek. Yuuri, completely ignorant to the ways of cutoms of this kingdom, inadvertantly proposed to Wolf.
Cheri: (the ex queen) See Wolf!I told you! All the men are after you!!
Yuuri: By "men" are you including me?
Gunter: In accordanc to an old custom of this nation... you just proposed to him... you asked for his hand in marriage.
Yuuri: You must be joking! I mean.... we're both guys!
Gunter: It's not a rare thing.

POINT 2
The show in general is heavy on the yaoi and double meanings if you can't tell. After the whole proposal fiasco, Yuuri accidently challenges Wolf to a duel. On the day of the duel, Wolf says:
Wolf: I've imagined what you'd look like, begging for mercy on your knees. Thoughts like that keep me occupied for a while!
Take that any way you want.

POINT 3
Yuuri decides to duel sumo wrestler style. Yuuri takes off his shirt to get ready. Not knowing the rules of sumo, the onlookers are shocked at his undressing and think some rather pervy thoughts. The ex-queen yelps and grins, and Gwendel, another high ranking person says "Oh my..." The shocked then indignant face Wolf made when he realized that he would have to strip too was priceless!

POINT 4
After a long and varied battle, Yuuri wins the duel, but passes out afterwards. He sleeps for days, but when he wakes, his so called rival is there watching over him. Of course he covers up his concern with a "humph." But if he were so pissed and not really worried about Yuuri, he would not have been waiting in his room in the first place.

POINT 5
Eventually Wolfram comes to terms and accepts that he is engaged to Yuuri. Then he makes it a point to tell everyone in the entire kingdom that they are betroved. Apparently Wolfram will be a very jealous spouce because he gets unreasonably angry everytime Yuuri is even the slightest bit friendly with someone else. It's adorable.

POINT 6
After announcing their engagement to the world, Wolfram starts to act the part of the would be "wife," as a shocked Yuuri finds him in his bed every night.
